The Cupola Hall
The Japonica Collection encompasses roughly 2000 volumes in Japanese from the 19th century to the 1950s. Researchers may study the volumes in the Collection in the National Library’s Special Collections Reading Room. Some of the most interesting items from the Collection have been selected for this exhibition, including Japanese classics, books relating to the early years of Finnish-Japanese diplomacy as well as Japanese translations of Finnish books. Some of the pieces are true rarities.
