Opening Hours of the National Library of Finland

Opening hours from 1 October 2021 onwards

  • Mon 9 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 5 pm
  • Tue 9 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 5 pm
  • Wed 9 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 5 pm
  • Thu 9 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 5 pm
  • Fri 9 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 5 pm
  • Sat closed

Customer service is open in Rotunda, the Special Collections Reading Room and the Slavonic library on weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
Customer service is open in the North Hall on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (a duty officer will be called from Rotunda’s information desk) and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m (there is a duty officer in the North Hall).
There is no customer service in the Reprographic service point.

Self-service hours on weekdays 9am – 10 am and 5 pm – 6 pm.

The Special Collections Reading Room cannot be used during self-service hours.

Exceptional hours

The National Library has exceptional opening hours on public holidays and on their eve days, between Christmas and Epiphany, as well as on individual other days.

Fri 5th November 2021 Eve of All Saints' Day
Library closes at 4 p.m.

Mon 6th December 2021 Finland's Independence Day
Library is closed.

Thu 23th December 2021 Day before Christmas Eve
Library closes at 4 p.m.

Fri 24th December 2021 Christmas Eve
Library is closed.

Fri 31th December 2021 New Year's Eve
Library closes at 4 p.m.

Wed 5th January 2022 Twelfth Night
Library closes at 4 p.m.

Thu 6th January 2022 Epiphany
Library is closed.
