The new National Library of Finland Bulletin 2016 is out

The National Library of Finland Bulletin published once a year presents topical activities and events at the National Library of Finland.

In this issue we present many highlights. After the five-year renovation Mrs. Jenni Haukio, spouse of the President, made a spectacular speech at the grand opening of the historic National Library of Finland building in March 2016.

In June 2016, Helsinki was the centre of debate about the future of research, science and librarianship at the Association of European Research Libraries, Liber 2016, conference. The 500-strong crowd of librarians, academics and researchers discussed the most relevant topic: open access. Read the report and interviews by Suvi Kingsley.

Other current projects in our Library: freely accessible minority language resources online, the Aviisi project, Finna API, COMHIS and EUDAT.
