“We greatly appreciate receiving feedback on the functionality of our services. Kaisa Kyläkoski uses the National Library’s services and both digital and physical collections actively, and participates in events organised by the library. She regularly features the library’s services on her blog and social media accounts, bringing up both sources of satisfaction and suggestions for improvements. Feedback from active users is very valuable to us as we develop our operations,” says Service Director Johanna Lilja, explaining the choice of the recipient of the award.

With the Customer of the Year award, the National Library of Finland wants to highlight significant work done by customers who use the library’s materials and services. The award can be granted to individuals, research groups or organisations. The recipient of the award is selected annually by the National Library staff.

Kaisa Kyläkoski is a doctoral student at the University of Jyväskylä, and the topic of her dissertation is Imagined communities of Swedish national newspapers 1729–1791.
