FiBO Players: Mikko Perkola, Heidi Peltoniemi, viola da gamba, Anna Rinta-Rahko, violone
The viol (or viola da gamba) was the favourite instrument of European courts and noble families in the 17th and 18th centuries. An evening of French viol music combines the intimate beauty of compositions by Marais, Sainte-Colombe and Forqueray with virtuoso phrasing and melancholic passages.
