How can Finnish archives, libraries, and museums make their collections accessible via Europeana? What are the benefits and joys of participating in Europeana and sharing collections? What kind of experiences have organisations that are participating in Europeana had ?
Europeana and the National Library of Finland are organising an English language workshop for Finnish cultural heritage organisations on 15.2.2018. The theme is “Boost the Value of Your Digital Collections.” The workshop will address the questions above, and participants will have the opportunity to discuss current trends related to digital cultural heritage. Participants can be from organisations for whom European is still a relatively new acquaintance as well as from organisations that already have collections available on Europeana. During the lunch break, participants will have the opportunity to talk to an EU Creative Europe programme representative about funding possibilities for European cooperation in the library, archive, and museum sectors.
The workshop will be held in Helsinki at the National Library of Finland. The first 30 people to register will be able to participate in the workshop in person. It will be possible to participate in parts of the workshop remotely. They are the sessions from 9.30-12.30, 13.20-14.00, and 15.15-15.45, and they are marked in cursive on the programme. This workshop is free of charge. Participants are responsible for their own lunch. Please register by 7.2.2018 (including if you wish to participate remotely).
