Pride and Prejudice – chamber music from the Bennet sisters

Soprano Laura Salovaara, baritone Petter Andersson and pianist Heidi Kuusava perform songs which might have been performed at the chamber concerts held by the heroines of Austen’s novels. Music by Margaret Casson and Thomas Arne features in addition to Handel and the Viennese Classics, as do readings of excerpts from Pride and Prejudice and its musical references.

The artistic director of the series is violinist Siljamari Heikinheimo together with pianist and producer Heidi Kuusava.

The concert series has received support from the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.

The sounds from the books will continue in spring 2017.
