Networking

To ensure the success of the cooperation needed for providing the national services of the National Library of Finland, mechanisms such as councils, steering groups and consortia have been created to facilitate discussions and networking.

Partnerships

The National Library of Finland provides services and participates in the more extensive social development activities in cooperation with national and international partners. Each partnership is different and based on the expertise and input of the partners. Intelligent and flexible sharing of expertise, resources and responsibilities is at the heart of partnerships.

The National Library of Finland develops its operations in projects, the results of which will be channeled as a part of basic operations. In addition, the library participates in the development of its expertise and operating environment in externally funded projects.

Our Digital Cultural Heritage Initiative

The Ministry of Education and Culture’s Digital Cultural Heritage Initiative maintains services to improve the availability, accessibility and long-term preservation of cultural heritage information resources. The Digime website of the National Library of Finland is responsible for communications as a whole.

Research cooperation

Our objective is to improve the prerequisites of cultural and social research through cooperation, make our materials and services widely available for research, and develop the services needed for research by interacting with the scientific community.
