Collection description

The recording archive of Tauno Hannikainen is a tape archive collected by conductor Tauno Hannikainen and his family and friends. The archive contains recordings of concerts conducted by Tauno Hannikainen and other conductors, recorded radio programmes, practice sessions, interviews and materials concerning Hannikainen's family. The archive includes recordings from Tauno Hannikainen's musical career, from the 1940s to the 1980s.

The tape archive has been digitised. You can browse the archive information with the help of a digitised catalogue and order the recordings to be used in the Music Library's listening room. You can find the catalogue in the Doria database.

The archive was donated to the library by conductor Tuomas Hannikainen (formerly Ollila) in 2000.
