The Georgica Collection contains works in Georgian printed in the Russian empire between 1828 and 1917 and received as deposit copies.
The over 2,000 titles of the collection include poetry and fiction, both from Georgia (e.g., Ilia Chavchavadze, Grigol Orbeliani, Shota Rustaveli), and works translated into Georgian written by European authors (e.g., Aisopos, Cervantes, Defoe, Dumas, Goethe, Molière, Shakespeare, Voltaire). In addition to these, the collection contains devotional literature, history, folklore, grammar guides, dictionaries, economic and political publications, newspapers and periodicals as well as various ephemera.
