Philosopher Georg Henrik von Wright (1916–2003) donated his scientific library and correspondence to the library in August 2002. The collection mostly consists of philosophical literature, including textbooks and classics of philosophy and, additionally, philosophical literature in French and German, Anglo-American analytical philosophy and significant amounts of works by Ludwig Wittgenstein and research literature commenting on his philosophical publications. The collection includes also other fields of science, such as mathematics, physics, sociology and psychology. The collection also has some rare books from the 16th century onwards.

Provenance
The collection was donated to the National Library of Finland by philosopher Georg Henrik von Wright (1916–2003) in August 2002. The donated collection consisted of his scientific library and correspondence. The correspondence has been transferred into the Manuscript Collections as its own entity. The book collection has 2,102 titles, and the correspondence includes nearly 16,000 letters and postcards from 1,871 people over seven decades.
