Collection description

The Finnish American Collection includes literature published in Finnish, Swedish and English in the United States and Canada between 1876 and 1977. In addition to approximately 2,100 and 550 newspapers and periodicals, the collection includes serial and annual publications and ephemera and sheet music. The collection includes religious, political and other social literature as well as original and translated fiction.

From 1978, Finnish American literature has been placed among other literature in the National Collection.
