Collection description

The National Collection's Book Collection contains the monograph-type materials intended for distribution to trhe general public received as legal deposit copies since the early-1800s to today.

The collection is divided in two in non-fiction and fiction, which have further been arranged in two time periods: (1) Literature published in 1810–1972 ("old Fennica") and (2) literature published since 1973.

The collection is for the most part catalogued into the Helka database. However, some of the older literature (up until 1977) with its location data is only available in the card index of the National Collection, which is available for customers at the 2nd floor of Fabiania.
