Director’s review

Constant change and consistency in change are apt characterisations of our time. New and unexpected challenges may already lie ahead of us tomorrow.

Many of the National Library’s processes do not follow a strict annual cycle, nor can all of the results of our activities be measured or evaluated in the here and now.

The work carried out at the National Library usually has a long-term impact. In some cases, its true significance cannot be measured until decades from now.

I wish to thank all of my fellow employees and the library’s customers for once again participating in the creation of this demanding national narrative.

I would also like to thank the numerous individuals and funds, as well as the University of Helsinki and the city and economic region of Mikkeli, for their excellent support to our work. The story continues.
